How to Feel Confident Once Again

How to Feel Confident Once Again

Confidence is something that everybody wants, and we can easily spot it in others. However, when it comes to bringing up our own confidence, it’s not always possible. A sense of confidence isn’t something that is as elusive as you think it could be. There are plenty of ways that you can develop your confidence and understand where your confidence comes from. Confidence is the self-trust that you have in your choices, your values, and your skills.

Sometimes it takes a Mommy Makeover to make you feel confident again, especially after you’ve had children. The thing is, most confidence comes from knowing your strengths and weaknesses and still being able to think positively about yourself. When you’ve entered a world with an abundance of self-confidence, losing that can feel detrimental to your health. You need to know how to feel confident again, especially if you have lost it over time. Let’s take a look at how you can reclaim that.

Learn why your confidence is lacking.

If you can find the root cause of low self-confidence, you can give yourself a map of how to rebuild it. A good place to begin is for journaling and self-reflection. For one week, record any thoughts that show that you have low self-confidence. Any moments in time when you think bad things about yourself. For every single thought or saying, ask yourself who or what told you that. You have to learn to argue against your own brain sometimes, and that’s not the easiest thing to do because your brain thinks you’re right.

Understand what confidence feels like.

Is it a new outfit? Is it wearing a pair of shoes and not tripping over? Is it getting something right at work? Whatever it is, understanding what confidence feels like for you is going to help you to find that feeling. For some, confidence might come from wearing Christian Apparel, as clothing with Christian themes or designs can provide a sense of identity and spiritual connection. You might finally be able to wear the heels that you always thought you couldn’t. You might even be able to have a conversation with somebody you didn’t think you could speak to face to face without blushing. Confidence is different from person to person, so it doesn’t actually have to make sense to anybody else except you.

Identify the “should”

If you have been telling yourself that you should be doing other things by this stage in life, or you should be feeling things, or you should be doing things, then it’s time to identify why you think you should be doing things. It is based on a maternal or paternal voice in your head. Is this based on some societal expectation of where you should be at this stage in your life? No matter what it is, you need to identify that, face it, and ask yourself what it is that you feel like you are challenged to do.

Your confidence is important, and so is finding it. Once you do, you’ll feel nothing but good things.
