4 Great US Cities For Remote Workers

The number of US workers who have the capacity to work remotely is rising. Of those who have the option, some 35% are making the most of the option by working remotely full-time, which means they never have to be in the office.

And with that comes a lot of freedom. Remote workers looking to mix up their routine and move somewhere new will find that there are plenty of outstanding cities across the United States to choose from. St Louis 

One of the perks of not having to work in an office is that you don’t need to spend many hours each day driving to and from the office. And if you’re looking to lean into the car-free lifestyle as possible, then St Louis might just be the place you’ve been searching for.

This highly walkable city has a lot going for it, including a cost of living that’s much more manageable than other parts of the country. Throw in an abundance of free attractions, and you have a city that’s easy to love. 

Cleveland

Ohio is full of great, underrated cities. Cleveland might be the best of the lot. This city is walkable, is close to nature — Lake Erie is nearby — and has some of the best museums in the Midwest. The weather in summer is also arguably the best in the country (it’s hot, but not too hot), and there are some outstanding accommodation options to choose from. The Avenue District, for instance, offers comfortable living mixed with a great location, which means you can choose to work from home or one of the city’s great coworking spaces. And though Cleveland is a big city, it also has a laid-back atmosphere, which means the city will never stress you out.  

Miami

Chasing the sunshine? Then Miami might be just the place you’ve been looking for. This popular Florida city offers a little bit of everything. It’s got arguably the best nightlife in the country, has a great food scene, has multiple airports that make reaching all parts of the continent a breeze, and has a diverse population. Miami isn’t for everyone, but if you’re looking for an environment that’s happening, fun, and relaxed, then it’s hard to beat this city. The only downside is that it is more expensive than other cities, so you’ll need to have a good salary to make the most of all that it has to offer. 

Atlanta

There’s much to love about Atlanta, a city that offers culture, history, and a cracking atmosphere. There are also plenty of remote workers who have moved to the city, ensuring that there’s always someone around for after work drinks. And though Atlanta is more expensive than other cities in Georgia, it’s still considerably more affordable than other leading cities in the U.S. Here, you’ll get plenty of bang for your buck.
