Grandma Jackie’s Easy Spaghetti Sauce

Grandma Jackie’s Easy Spaghetti Sauce

Grandma Jackie's Easy Spaghetti Sauce

A staple in our house is my mom's homemade spaghetti sauce.  Chulengo knows her as Grandma Jackie, so it was only natural to call the sauce Grandma Jackie's spaghetti sauce.  Because we love it so much, we try to have our freezer stocked with Grandma Jackie's spaghetti sauce.  Therefore, every time my mom visits, we make a couple of batches of sauce to freeze.  Then, we can pull the sauce out of the freezer in the morning to thaw and be ready for dinner. In addition to serving this spaghetti sauce over pasta noodles, you can add this sauce to many other dishes.  We use the sauce with spaghetti squash, zucchini lasagna, Italian quesadillas, pizza sticks, and chicken parmesan.

Recipe Notes

The types of meat you can choose are endless, but my go-to meats have been: ground turkey, sweet Italian sausage, ground beef, or wild boar.

We store the left-over sauce in airtight containers to maintain freshness.  The sauce will keep well in a refrigerator for up to 3 days or in a freezer for up to 6 months.
