As a mom of a three‑month‑old (and two older kids) who’s just starting to venture out and leave baby with family or a sitter, I recently tried the Babba Bottle Cooler & Warmer, and I’m honestly relieved to say it’s made my first little escapes feel manageable.

As an exclusively breastfed baby, Rose prefers freshly pumped milk, so I can pump and put the milk in the Babba bottle. If she doesn’t drink it within the 4-hour window, I can refrigerate it using the thermal plate of the Babba. Then, when she wants the milk, I can heat it right away and feed it to her. Let’s get into more details about the bottle that’s changing the way bottles are made for babies, especially on the go. Quick note, I am writing this from the perspective of an exclusively breastfeeding mom, and I am not familiar with the routine with formula.

What is the Babba Bottle?

The Babba Bottle Cooler & Warmer is a compact, portable device that both cools and warms breastmilk. It cools breast milk or formula for storage at a safe temperature for several hours. And the warmer gently warms up milk without overheating, giving you peace of mind that breastmilk is kept at the correct temperature.

How have I used the Babba? As we’ve been training Rose to use a bottle, I pump milk for my husband to give to her. Then I leave for a while. If she takes the milk within four hours, he feeds her the milk. If she doesn’t take the milk within four hours, he turns on the cooling setting to refrigerate it. Then, when she wakes up, he can heat the milk and feed it to her. It offers an easy on-the-go option for him when I am not around to nurse Rose.

Pros

Portable and lightweight. It slips effortlessly into a diaper bag or small tote—ideal when we’re packing up the stroller or heading out for lunch. The bottle pocket inside our Lily + Jade diaper bag easily fits the device. And our stroller has a little caddy, which also holds the device easily.
Dual-purpose cool + warm. With one product, we’re ready for either on‑the‑go need. That means if Rose needs a cold bottle around a park outing or a warm one after a nap, she’s covered. And if she doesn’t take the milk at all, we can chill it to save it for a later time.
Sturdy temperature performance. In my experience, warmed up or cooled down the milk within five minutes. Both settings have proven to be safe for storing breast milk. My favorite part is that it takes the guessing out of how warm the bottle needs to be. The temperature has been perfect each time.
Easy cleanup. The thermal plate is easy to wipe down, and the stainless steel bottle is easy to wash by hand. I’m not sure if it’s dishwasher safe, but it’s been so easy to hand wash, I haven’t needed to check.
Nipple variety. The Babba comes with four different nipple flows. This has been helpful for us as we’ve started with the slower-flow nipple and worked our way up to the faster-flow nipple, which mimics my flow.
Sleek design. The neutral colors and clean lines allow the Babba to blend in easily without being another obnoxious piece of baby equipment.
Color-coded signals. When you press the button on the front of the device, the light indicates the temperature mode. Blue means cooling, and red means warming. A blinking blue light indicates that the bottle is cooling, while a solid blue light indicates that it’s thoroughly cooled. A blinking red light means the bottle is warming, and a solid red light means it’s fully warmed. We kept the guide handy for the first few uses to make sure we understood the signals correctly.
30-day return policy. I am a sucker for good return policies, and this one is great. The company stands by their product and is willing to accept your return within 30 days.
Compatible with an app. I can use the Babba app to start warming or cooling the bottle. I can also check the battery level. I haven’t used the app yet, but I like the option to do so, if needed.

Cons

Single‑bottle size. If you’re planning one extra feed, it’s perfect—but if you want to carry two bottles, you’ll need two units or a backup cooler. The bottle holds eight ounces, so if you need more than that, you’ll need a backup plan.
Limited bottle variety. If your baby prefers a certain type of bottle, you would need to pour the milk into that bottle from the Babba bottle. It’s just one more extra step that could be an inconvenience.
Learning curve. It took us some time to figure out how to use this seamlessly. I had to read through the instructions a few times to make sure I understood them correctly. Not a big deal, but it definitely requires thought to make sure you are cooling or heating properly.
Higher price. At $199 each, this is an investment. You have to decide if it’s worth the price of the convenience to have a warmed or cooled bottle on hand when you need it.

Verdict

If you’re easing back into the world—heading out for a coffee date, seeing friends over lunch, or simply taking a break while baby hangs with grandma—the Babba Bottle Cooler & Warmer hits the sweet spot. It’s portable, easy to use, and offers reliable temperature control for a standard-size feed. While it’s not ideal for multiple bottles or long all-day outings, for those early, short trips away, it’s a solid tool that gives caregivers just a little more confidence, taking the guessing game out of cooling and heating. And it’s giving moms a lot more freedom. The investment offers a bit more flexibility and freedom for us moms, which I am always a fan of.
